WILLIAM H. GIBSON

William H. Gibson, son of Theador and Eunice Gibson, was born April 8, 1867, just over the state line in Missouri and passed away at Mt. Pleasant, December 16, 1944 at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Alice Mae Groves, January 18, 1890. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Alice M. Gibson, four daughters and four sons, Roy E. of Mishawaka, Ind., Floyd of Troy, Clarence W. of West Grove, Lester N. of Shelton, Nebr., Goldie Kerr of Keosauqua, Violet Barker of Ottumwa, Pearl Glattfelder of Floris, Weltha Roth of Fairfield. One son Forrest W. Gibson was killed in action May 29, 1943 on Attu Island. One son and one daughter died in infancy. He leaves one half brother, Lewis Gibson of Floris, a half sister, Stella Spencer of Keosauqua. One brother, Martin Gibson preceded him in death twelve years ago. He also leaves nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, a host of relatives and friends.

He was a member of the Christian church at Milton. He had been in poor health a number of years, being blind sixteen years. He suffered a stroke three weeks ago which was the cause of his death.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, December 20, at two o'clock at the Christian church at Milton. Rev. Hadley in charge.
