Obituary Of Rex Hootman

Rex Bernard Hootman, second son of Chester and Ella Maxwell Hootman, was born near Kilbourne, Van Buren county, Iowa, April 30, 1895. His entire life was spent in the vicinity of his late home, near Mt. Zion. He passed away after a short illness at the Santa Fe hospital at Ft. Madison, Iowa, November 13, 1916, aged 21 years, 6 months and 13 days. Rex gave his heart to his Master during a revival service at Mt. Zion at the Presbyterian church, and united with that church January 17, 1915, and was a consistent member until his Savior called him hither. Those left to mourn his departure are: father, mother, two brothers, Ira and Ervin, and one sister, all of Mt. Zion; also many many friends and relatives, who will revere the memory of him. Funeral services were held at his late home Tuesday afternoon, November 14, conducted by Rev. A.D. Rundell. Burial was in the Birmingham cemetery.
