Norton T. Beghtol

Norton T. Beghtol, well known Van Buren county resident, died at his home in Selma at 4 a.m. Saturday at the age of 75 years. He had been ill for several months.

Norton T. Begthol was born December 20, 1872. He moved from Kilbourne to Selma 15 years ago and had made his home in the community since. He was united in marriage to Bird Mercer who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five children: Gertrude Beghtol, at home; Goldie Liles, Floris; Nellie Lilies, Waterloo; Helen Bone, Floris; and Minnie Wiles, Selma. He is alsos survived by two brothers, Charles, Denver; and John, Eldon; and a sister, Bessie Lewis, Ottumwa.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Catcott funeral home in Birmingham with the Rev. J.C. Austin of Keosauqua officiating. Burial was in the Iowaville cemetery at Selma.
