WILLIAM RANARD

William Matthew Ranard, son of Joseph and Caroline Ranard was born in Kilbourne, Iowa Feb. 17, 1871 and departed this life July 24, 1937 at his home after a long period of failing health, age 65 years, 5 months and 7 days.

He accepted Christ and was ready to meet his Maker. He was united in marriage to Anna Slutz Feb. 26, 1900 and to this union were born five children. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Ranard, two sons and three daughters, J.E. Ranard of St. Paul, Minn.; P.J. Ranard, of Newport, Rhode Island; Mrs. F. Gimple of Aurora, Neb. Mrs. Kermit Aylor of Keosauqua, and Irene Ranard who resides at home; three brothers, Walker of Fairfield; Jesse, of Boone; Andrew of Giltner, Nebr., and one half sister, Mrs. Mattie Gilbert of Douds, one half brother, James of Waterloo, five grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at the Kilbourne M.E. church Monday afternoon in charge of the Rev. Earl Burrous pastor of the Oak Grove Free Methodist church. Interment was in the Kilbourne cemetery.
