SELMA-Frederick Rob Ripley, 45, died at his home five miles northeast of Selma at (?) p.m. Dec. 8.

He was born June 4, 1934, in Selma to Clair and Mabel Milam Ripley. He served in U.S. Navy from 1952 until 1976, retiring as a chief machinist's mate. He was a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ottumwa.

Survivors: sons Fred and Mike in California; daughters Pam in California and Teresa Ripley and Jeanne Jessup of Ottumwa; two grandsons; his mother of Selma; brothers Henry of Perry, Clair Jr., of Phoenix, Ariz., James of Charleston, S.C., and Donald of Millington, Tenn.; and sisters Ida Levis of Allerton, Rosetta Wright of Burlington, Beulah Keast of St. Catherine's, Ontario, Canada, Darlene Bradfield of Agency, and Anna Fowler and Betty Gatlin of Ottumwa.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, the Revs. Helen and L.C. Brown officiating. Burial: Iowaville Cemetery near Selma with military rites.

Memorials: to American Lung Association.
