IN MEMORIAM
Died at the family residence in Bentonsport, Ia., March 29, 1882, Elizabeth, wife of Geo. W. Jack. Elizabeth Hart, for such was her maiden name, was born near Dayton, Ohio, July 31, 1838. She came to this state with relatives in the fall of 1856, and located in Vernon, Van Buren County. She was married to her bereaved companion February 24, 1859. Eight children have been given to them, all now living except Eilen Leatta who died in 1865. She was of a family of eight children of whom all are dead save two, Henry Hart, and Elsie Stemple. Her parents also preceeded her to the silent land. She joined the Methodist church in youth and remained a faithful member of the same till death gave to her release from pain, when she passed over to our father's house. She was a devoted Christian, a loving wife , a patient and tender mother, and a kind neighbor. She was happy to remove to the pleasant home on the hill east of Bentonsport, where kindness and means had provided for her a pleasant retreat, but just as the family were settling down to a long and happy life in the new home,death came and took her who could be least spared of all. She will rest in peace till the resurrection brings all together again. The funeral was large attended the writer officiation from Heb. XIII-4. The sympathy of every one is extended to the broken home.J.W.W.
