Obituary of Bessie May Brown

Bessie May Henry was born near Keosauqua, Iowa, Aug. 22, 1893, and entered the haven of rest the morning of Nov. 22, 1918, at her home in Cope, Colorado, aged 25 years and 3 months. She was married to Everett B. Brown, Sept. 17, 1913. To them were born a son and daughter, Lester Lee, aged 4, Velma Louise, aged 2 ½. Bessie was beloved by all who knew her and it is with sadness we think of her gone. She leaves to mourn her death, besides the ones mentioned, her parents Mr. and Mrs. O.G. Henry of Yuma, Colorado, and a sister Mrs. Lela Crowell, of Denver, Colorado, also a number of other relatives and friends. She was stricken with influenza one week previous and while all was done that could be done by loving hands and hearts, complications set in which resulted in her death. God thought it best to call her home and while we cannot see the reason why, someday we will understand. She was a member of the M.E. church of Yuma, also a member of the R.N.A.’s. Outdoor services, conducted by her pastor Rev. Geo. Kitchen of Yuma, were held at the home Saturday afternoon. Burial at the Cope cemetery.
