Cleo Thomas

MILTON - Cleo C. Thomas, 78, Milton, died Aug. 21, 2004, at Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield, Iowa.

Cleo was born April 28, 1926, near Mount Sterling to Herbert and Edna Alexander Thomas. He married and was divorced from Eileen Roby, Laura Lunsford and Nancy Phillips. In 1975 in Memphis, Mo., he married Maxine Osing Davidson.

He farmed in the Milton area and was a heavy equipment operator for McConnell Construction Co.

Surviving are his wife Maxine, two sons Dean Thomas of Laurel Hill, Florida, Steven Thomas of Milton, two daughters, Nancy Jean Schweiger of Green Valley, Arizona and Teresa Toops of Terrell, Texas, and step-daughter Joyce Carey of Birmingham; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren and a brother, Richard Thomas of Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with (his cousin) David Alexander (of Keosauqua) officiating. Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday with family present 7-8 p.m.. Burial will be at Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton.

Memorials to Milton American Legion "Avenue of Flags."
