Mrs. Barr Dies At 59

Mrs. Alma Violet Barr, 59, 303 W. Adams, died Tuesday at 12:50 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health for some time.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Foursquare Church with the Rev. Donald Hickman officiating. Burial will be in the Bonaparte Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 at the Raymond Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barr was born May 2, 1915 in Van Buren County, the daughter of Fred and Adabelle Fern Platt Douthart. She was married to Luther Barr Feb. 27, 1938.

Mrs. Barr was a member of the Foursquare Church and president of the Foursquare Women. She is survived by four children: Carl W. Barr, Fairfield; Mrs. Dwight Stradling, Garden Grove, Calif.; Mrs. Robert Devlin, Las Alamedas, Calif.; and Mrs. Miles Coffin, Agency.

Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Adele Douthart, Bonaparte; 12 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters:

Ralph Douthart, Floris; Kenneth Douthart, Bonaparte; Courtland Douthart, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Floyd Puffinbarger, Birmingham; Mrs. Keith McFarland, West Branch; and Mrs. David Houser, Irving, Tex.
