James G. Gilbert, 75, of Bellmont, IL, formerly of Kilbourne and Keosauqua, died Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. He was born March 15, 1940, near Kilbourne to Gordon and Evelyn Ramsey Gilbert, graduated from Birmingham High School in 1959 and was a professional trainer and driver of harness race horses.

He married Donna Horras. They later divorced. Surviving are his special friend, Martha Eads of Bellmont, two daughters, Debbie Gilbert of Fairfield and Liz Hickenbottom (Bob) of Packwood, a brother, Roy Gilbert (Dorothy) of Stockport, a niece, Cindy Hewitt (Mike Holcomb) of Agency and a nephew, Stuart Gilbert (Kaye) of Stockport. His parents preceded him in death.

Jim's body has been cremated. A graveside service and burial of cremains will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday July 11, 2015, in Kilbourne Cemetery with Rev. Herb Shafer officiating.

Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, is in charge of arrangements.
