Monday, March 11, 1974Death Takes Rex Steele, 72
GLASGOW - Services were held in Redding, Calif., today for James Rex Steele, 72, former resident of the Glasgow and Douds Communities.
Rememered(sp) as Rex Steele in this community, he died March 9 at Redding where he had been a resident since 1938. He had been in failing health a number of years and serious the past three weeks.
James Rex Steele was born near Lebanon in Van Buren near Lebanon in Van Buren County Feb. 2, 1902, the son of James and Loretta Hewitt Steele.
He is survived by his widow who lives at Redding; along with four children, Dale, Fairfield; Robert, Stockport; Mrs. H.V. Luzadder, Fairfield; and Mrs. Raymond Lyon, Birmingham.
Other survivors include 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one step daughter, Mrs. Ed DeLoizier of California; five step-grandchildren; and one aunt.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one son.
