Bruc Cavitt

Bruce Cavitt, son of James and Martha McWilliams Cavitt, was born in Missouri, Feb. 25, 1871, and passed away at his home home southeast of Mount Sterling July 28, 1949, at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 3 days.

In 1897, he was married to Ella Petit. Most of their life together has been spent on the farm where he resided at the time of his death. He became a member of the Christian Church during early manhood and ever continued to be a faithful attendant and an active worker as long as his health permitted. One of his special joys was taken others to church with him.

He was greaty interested in community and public affairs; true to his convictions, ready to help the right win and fearlessly oppposing the wrong.

He leaves to mourn their loss his beloved wife, his brother Wallace who lives with them, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

He will be greatly missed in the home and among his fellow man who trusteth the Lord.

Funeral services were held in the Mount Sterling Methodist Church Saturday, July 30, at 2 p.m. Burial in Blackledge Cemetery. Services by Rev. Walter Llewellyn of the Keosauqua Christian Church.
