Marjorie D. McLeland, 87, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, August 1, 1992, at the New Sharon Care Center. She was born August 17, 1904, at Milton to Silas and Anna Scarborough Morgan. She married Eldred “Mac” McLeland at Milton; he died in 1952. She lived in Des Moines for 50 years, and had taught mentally retarded clients in her home in the Capitol Heights area. She moved to Oskaloosa in 1983. She was a member of the Capitol Heights Methodist Church in Des Moines.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Morgan and Sandy McLeland of Barrington, Illinois, and Jan and Lu McLeland of Oskaloosa; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Gay and Earl; and an infant sister, Madalyn.

The body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Capitol Heights Methodist Church in Des Moines. Memorials may be made to her church. Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa is in charge of arrangements.
