Mrs. Lloyd Madden, 65, died this morning in Ottumwa after a serious illness of two and a half months.
A resident of Fairfield since 1928, Mrs. Madden made her home at 301 Van Buren Street prior to her illness. She underwent a major operation in May and had been seriously ill since that time.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Weston Behner funeral home. Graveside services and burial will be held at Milton at 1:30 p.m.
Mrs. Madden was born in Cantril Jan. 9, 1885, the daughter of William and Belle Teeter (Teter) McLeland. She was married to Austin Lee who preceded her in death in 1920. On January 6, 1923, she married Lloyd Madden at Memphis, Missouri. She was a member of the Methodist church in Milton.
Survivors include her husband and the following children: Mrs. Willa Beranek, Lockridge; George A. Lee, Fairfield; Mrs. Lucille Willey, Fairfield; Dorothy, Rockford, Illinois, and Mac Madden, Fairfield, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Yvonne Wheaton, Pulaski. There are also nine grandchildren and three brothers, Ray McLeland, Milton; Clarence McLeland, Iowa City, and Harry McLeland, Stockport. Four brothers preceded her in death.
