Robert D. Johnson
Robert D. Johnson was born March 30, 1864 at the farm home south of Hillsboro and lived there continuously until he passed away January 25, 1936, aged 71 years, 9 months and 25 days. He was the son of Benjamin H. and Mary Johnson, pioneers of southeastern Iowa. He was a member of a family of ten children.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his sisters, Martha and Cordelia, of Hillsboro; Mrs. Tracy Cramer, of Rock Island, Ill.; a brother, David, of Hillsboro; nieces and nephews. He was a kind and loving brother, neighbor and friend, and will be sadly missed in the home and community in which he lived for so many years.
He was a charter member of the Christian church of Hillsboro, and soon was elected a deacon. This office and others were filled very faithfully to the last by him.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Hillsboro Christian church, the Rev. Williamson, of Fairfield in charge. Interment was made in the Hillsboro cemetery.
