Mrs. Meta Steinmeyer, mother of Dr. F. A. Steinmeyer, of this place, died at her home in Farmington township, on Wednesday March 7, 1900, aged 77 years, 4 months and 17 days.

The funeral took place on Friday March 9, Rev. G. W. Barber, of Farmington, conducting the service.

Deceased was born in the Kingdom of Hanover, Germany, October 20, 1822. She came to America and settled in Van Buren county in 1836. She was married to Frederick Steinmeyer in 1843. Eight children were born to them, six sons and two daughters. Her husband died November 23, 1888. One son and one daughter have died. Mrs. Steinmeyer was a member of the German M. E. church, a faithful Christian and a kind neighbor.
