Second of Family to Meet
Same Fate. Other Accidents
Below MentionedStruck on the head by the limb of a falling tree late Monday afternoon, Roy Thompson, 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Thompson, of near Bonaparte, suffered injuries which proved fatal within a half an hour after the accident.
The Thompson family lives on the George Helwig farm, three and a half miles east of Bonaparte. The youth had gone with his father and brother, Carl, to the timber to cut a coon tree, and as it fell, a limb struck him on the side of the head, knocking him unconscious. He died about thirty minutes later, without regaining consciousness, as he was being carried across the fields towards his home. He is survived by his parents and by seven brothers and sisters.
One year ago on December 27, 1925 a brother, Gerald, was killed in a similar manner.
