Edmon Morris, oldest son of Samuel and Augusta Morris, was born March 28, 1855, and passed away Nov. 20, 1932, at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 22 days. During his last illness he was cared for at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lottie E. Roberts, where loving hands and hearts did all that could be done but to no avail.
He was married to Mary Leffler on Oct. 24, 1877. To this union three daughters were born: Mrs. Lottie E. Roberts of Bentonsport, Mrs. Mabel Huff of Bonaparte and Mrs. Ethel A. Alexander of Bentonsport. His wife and two daughters preceded him in death, also three brothers. He leaves to mourn his passing one daughter, one brother, Worthington Morris of Stockport, 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Morris attended the Methodist church as long as he was in Stockport. He was a kind and loving father, devoted to his home. His disposition was modest and unassuming and his affection and love for his family will be cherished by those he leaves behind.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Bentonsport Monday afternoon at one o’clock. Interment in Bentonsport cemetery beside his wife. Rev. Harvey E. Butler officiated.
The pall bearers were Kenneth Roberts, Bennie Huff, Clinton Huff, Maurice Huff, L.Y. Jones and Alva Standley, all of whom are grandsons.
