Harley J. Percival ~ 1892-1932

Harley J. Percival was born Dec. 28, 1892, in Bonaparte, Iowa, and departed this life after a brief illness Feb. 27, 1932 at the age of 39 years, 1 month and 29 days, at his home in Ft. Madison. He was educated in the Bonaparte schools. During the World war he served with the A.E.F. After the war he attended Iowa State college at Ames.

He was a member of A.F. & A.M. Lodge No. 73 of Bonaparte and also of the Order of Moose at Ft. Madison.

On Dec. 25, 1917, he was united in marriage to Mildred Daugherty. To this union were born two sons, Robert Nelson, aged 13, and John Sylvan, aged 10.

Mr. Percival has lived in this vicinity all of his life with the exception of four years, during which he made his home in Ft. Madison.

He leaves to mourn his passing his father and mother, Dr. and Mrs. C.S. Percival, St., on brother, Dr. C.S. Percival, Jr., of Albert, Kansas, one sister, Mrs. H.E. Kinsey of Wichita, Kansas, his wife and two sons and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Bonaparte, the Rev. D.D. Flanagan officiating. Past Grand Master Wellingotn of Ft. Madison had charge of the Masonic services at the grave in Bonaparte cemetery.

Attendance at the funeral service included members of the Masonic order from Bonaparte, Ft. Madison and other southeastern Iowa points, members of the order of Moose of Ft. Madison, employees in the Ft. Madison creamery where the deceased had been employed for four years, and many relatives and friends.
