Ottumwa Daily Review Monday February 14, 1914.
Ottumwa - Sidney Parker of Bonaparte died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Max Shreiner, 601 Panama Street at 11:30 Saturday morning at the age of 76. Death was caused by cancer which Mr. Parker had been suffering for several months. The body was shipped to the late house in Bonaparte over the Rock Island at 8:33 this morning where funeral services will be held this afternoon.

Bonaparte - February 17, 1914-Sidney Parker, a long time resident of Bonaparte, died Saturday, Feb 14 at Ottumwa at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M.O. Schreiner. Mr Parker was born in England Sep 1, 1837, and came to this country when nine years of age.
He lived in various places, finally settling at Vernon where he learned the pottery business. Nov. 12, 1850, he was married to Margaret Ann Roberts and to this union four children were born.
Later he came to Bonaparte and he and Thomas Hanback built and operated the old Bonaparte Pottery. He leaves one son, and two daughters; Walter S. of Prarie City, Ia;, Mrs. Georginia Shriener of Ottumwa and Mrs. Minnie Ryland of Bonaparte. Also two brothers and three sisters; Wm of Bloomfield, Ia., George of Long Grove, Ia., Mrs. Mary McDougall of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Harriett Roush of Lamoni, Ia., and Mrs. Emma Bridge of Bonaparte. Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon with internment in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
