In the spring of 1845 they came to Iowa, settling above Eddyville on the Des Moines river. In the spring of 1846 they went to Ohio making their home in Highland county. Again returning to Iowa in the fall of 1854 they settled in Harrisburg township Van Buren county, where they lived twenty years, moving to Bonaparte in the spring of 1874.
Nine children were given them. The mother and four of them are now over there. The father and the remaining five are still here.
She died shortly before 3 o'clock. The night before she retired about 9 oclock having done her usual house work for the day. During the still hours of the night while all the rest were sleeping she was called home. She sank peacefully and sweetly to rest going to sleep on earth and walking in heaven.
