MRS. ALICE GRABER
Alice May, daughter of Oliver and Charlotte Gilchrist Miller, was born Oct. 19, 1864, near Kittanning, Armstrong county, Pa., and departed this life on Sept. 18, 1937, at her home in Stockport, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 29 days.
When about four years of age, she came with her parents from Pennsylvania to Birmingham where she grew to womanhood and met and married Dr. Fred Graber on Sept. 16, 1891, and shortly afterwards moved to Stockport, where she lived for more than 45 years.
She leaves to mourn her departure besides her husband, one son, Dr. Harold Graber, his wife, and four children of Fairfield, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mae Graber of Iowa City, one brother, David A. Miller of Birmingham, and other relatives and a host of friends. One son, Dr. Verne Graber, preceded her in death in 1930.
Mrs. Graber died as she had lived, serving those she loved, a cheerful, friendly neighbor, a good wife and a loving mother.
Funeral services were held from the home at Stockport Monday, Sept. 20, at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. Mays of the Friends church officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield.
