OBITUARY

Mahala Rinabarger Smith was born in Rush county, Indiana, March 21, 1838, being at the time of her death 95 years, 2 months and 28 days old.

She came to Iowa with her parents when a small child and lived near Cantril, Iowa, many years.

She was married to Rosebry Smith, June 10, 1874. He preceded her in death many years ago.

She was the mother of three sons, Charles Rinabarger of Medford, Oregon, Ellis Smith of Park City, Montana, and Roy Smith, who preceded her in death 2 years ago.

She leaves to mourn these two sons, a step-daughter, Eva J. Waters of Wray, Colorado; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and other relatives.

She joined the Christian church at Cantril, Iowa, many years ago and was a faithful member of that church until a few years ago she placed her membership in the Methodist church at Brock.

For 25 years, Grandma Smith, as she was known, made her home with her son, Roy, until his death two years ago when she went to live with her niece, Mrs. John Rosenbalm, near Cantril.

She was a dear little old lady, a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, a kind and cheerful neighbor and friend, who devoted her life in service for others whom she had an opportunity to serve.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. M. Hadley, at the Brock church, Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. She was tenderly laid to rest in the Milton cemetery.
