Mrs. Rose Green.
It was with sadness that the friends of Mrs. Rose Hamlin Green, wife of James Green, learned of her death which occurred here last Friday. Mrs. Green had been afflicted for more than a year with tuberculosis. On consulting a specialist last October, she was advised to take to her bed, which she did and continued for about a month, after which time she was up and down, according to the way she felt until about three weeks ago when she took to her bed and remained there until her death. It is sad that so young a woman should be called from this world.
Rose Leoti Hamlin was born in Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County, Iowa, Nov. 28, 1888. In 1907 she moved with her parents to Bonaparte, where she lived until August 5, 1908. She then was married to James Green, since which time she has lived in Farmington where she died Feb.17, 1911, aged 22 years, 2 months and 19 days. She was the mother of one daughter, born in 1909, who died at the age of seven months. She made many friends during her short residence here who regret very much to see their friend taken away in her young womanhood.
She was preceeded [sic] to the better world by father, mother, one brother and one sister. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, three brothers Frank, Fred and John, and two sisters, Mrs. Chas. Matlock and Miss Laura Hamlin, besides other relatives and a host of friends. – News-Replublican.
