J. E. CUNNINGHAM

James Ernest Cunningham was born June 8, 1876, at Monmouth, Ill., the youngest of a family of eight children of Samuel and Matilda Cunningham.

He united with the United Presbyterian church of Birmingham during his youth, and never removed his membership from that church, living a consistent Christian life until the end.

He had made his home with his sister, Mrs. Irene Boon, during the past seven years. He passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital in Ottumwa Feb. 25, 1944. Funeral services were held at the Catcott funeral home Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. H. C. Irvine. Burial in Maple Hill cemetery, Birmingham.

He leaves to mourn his passing one sister, Mrs. Irene Boon of Birmingham and one brother, John H. Cunningham of Creston, Iowa, also a number of nieces and nephews.
