Wilson Warren Dustin

Wilson Warren Dustin was born in Liberty township, Jefferson county, near Libertyville, on May 11, 1860 and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John M. Johnston, in Oskaloosa, December 15, 1934, at the age of seventy-four year, seven months and four days.

Mr. Dustin was united in marriage to Beadie Adeline Baldwin in 1882. Mrs. Dustin preceeded him in death, May 17, 1907. To them five children were born, Lee, of Birmingham, Van of Fairfield Connecticut; Mrs. Alta Johnston of Oskloosa, Iowa, Mrs. Grace Roberts, Fairfield, Connecticut; Mrs. Hazel Kagey, St. Joseph, Mo. These together with seven grandchildren and one great-grandson, his two brothers, William, of Topeka, Kansas, and Frank, of Fairfield, Iowa, and one sister Mrs. Ollie Pollock of Des Moines are the members of the immediate family who remain to mourn his loss.

Mr. Dustin made his first profession of faith in the Methodist church of Libertyville and ws for many years a faithful and devout member, on his removal to Birmingham he became a member of the local M.E. church. His active life was spent in farming near Birmingham and when he retired he purchased a property in Birmingham where he has been for many years a familiar and loved presence in the community. All knew him, and all his acquaintances loved and honored him.

Mr. Dustin's health has been failing for some time and a few weeks ago he went to the home of his daughter, in Oskaloosa, where all his children were able to gather before he passed away.

The funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in the Birmingham M.E. church, in charge of Rev. H.C. Druse. The sermon was preached by Howard C. Irvine. Interment at Maple Hill.
