Laura Ann Dulin

Laura Ann Dulin, daughter of David and Rebecca Prescott Finley, was born near Ottumwa, Iowa, March 31, 1864, and passed away at the Jefferson county hospital in Fairfield July 24, 1941, at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 23 days.

She was united in marriage with Charles Elgin Dulin on September 8, 1886. Her husband preceded her in death Nov. 26, 1899. To this union was born one daughter, Edna.

Mrs. Dulin has lived in Bonaparte for the past forty-seven years, where she made her living as a dressmaker after the death of her husband. She was a member of the Methodist church, the Ladies of the Maccabees and the Royal Neighbor lodge.

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Ben Roof, of Fremont, Iowa, Mrs. Dulin is survived by her son-in-law, Ben Roof of Fremont; two grandchildren, Elgin Roof of Austin, Minn., and Mrs. Marjorie Reynolds, of Des Moines; one great grandchild, James Roger Roof of Austin; one sister, Mrs. Cora Blount of Ottumwa; and several nieces and nephews.

She had few relatives but many friends, always helped others, often neglected herself. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church of Bonaparte, the pastor Walter L. Sieck, officiating, assisted by the Presbyterian pastor, Gerald J. Jud. Interment was in Bonaparte cemetery.
