Gus Le Roy “Bing” Anders, age 71 of rural Birmingham, died at his home on August 11, 2014.

He was born March 27, 1943, in Fairfield. He was raised by his grandparents, Joseph A. and Sylvia P. Loving Keller.

Bing graduated from Fairfield High School in 1961.

He served in the US. Navy in Viet Nam for two tours of duty on the “Ranger” and the “Enterprise”. He grew up in Fairfield and lived all adult life in the Birmingham community.

Gus was an over the road trucker and farmer.

He was married to Beverly Wilson Farris.

Surviving are his wife Beverly, one daughter, Christina Anders of Washington, Iowa, and his sister, Carol Atkins in Indiana.

Funeral services were held August 15 at the Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham with Pastor Steven Rasmussen officiating.

Interment with military honors by the US. Navy will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Mount Pleasant.

Arrangements were in the Care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.
