After finishing high school, he went to Unionville, Mo., where he worked at the Farmers' Store in the clothing department for five years. Afterwards he was traveling representative for the Missouri Telephone Company for several years. He was known as a very successful business man.

He went to California in 1913 and in 1914 was married to Miss Adlee Corby. They have made their home in California for the parst(sp) 20 years. For 15 years he was engaged in the grocery business and for the past five years had been retired from active business.

He was a wonderful husband, always kind and loving. His main characteristic was that he never became angry and was a great lover of older people. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife and brothers and sisters, besides a host of friends.

Mrs. J.B. Gibson attended the funeral, which was held in Los Angeles, Calif., April 16, at three o'clock. A profusion of beautiful floral offerings attested to the love and esteem with which he was regarded.
