Mrs. Addie Kelsey

Mrs. Addie Shelton Kelsey died Saturday night, Feb. 24, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Burkland, of Ottumwa, at the advanced age of 86.

She and her husband the late Sydney B. Kelsey, made their home in Farmington for years, reared a family of five daughters and one son, and were well known and respected in that community.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Belle French of Fort Madison, Mrs. Edith Hummell of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Vera McIntosh of Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Ethel Hogan of Bonaparte, and Mrs. Dorothy Burkland of Ottumwa also one brother, Mr. Arthur Shelton of Kansas City. Her son, Calvin, died about four years ago.

Services were held at the Carroll Reece funeral home Wednesday afternoon conducted by the Rev. Harold Lancaster, pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial was in Farmington cemetery.
