Harvey Davis.

Funeral services of Harvey Davis were held on Tuesday, June 12, 1934, at E. Moline, Ill., with interment in a Moline cemetery. Mr. Davis' health had been failing for some time. He was operated for some time. He was operated upon for rupture last January and for gall stones in April at a Moline hospital.

He was a son of Lewis and Ella Davis, former residents of Van Buren county his date of birth being Sept. 9, 1874, hence he would soon have been 60 years of age.

He was united in marriage with Bee Scotten of Mt. Sterling and to them were born eleven children, nine of whom are living. Besides his wife and children he is survived by three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Fred Heminger and Mrs. Otto Marriott, of Bentonsport, Mrs. Earl Householder and Chas. Davis, of Bonaparte, and Trevis Davis, of Washington, D.C.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis and family made their home in Van Buren county for years. He learned the shoe and harness repair business of his uncle, James Davis, at Bonaparte, and was located for several years at Keosauqua following that trade. They moved to E. Moline in 1916 which has since been their home. Until the depression came he was in the employ in the farm machine shops of that city.
