Obituary
**Handwritten: 1886

HARRY S., son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Calhoun, of Winchester, died at the home, Tuesday, March 2d, 1886, at 20 years, 3months, 8 days.

Harry was taken to his bed February 23d, and was sick but on short week. All was done for him which parents love and care could suggest, but in spite of good medical attention and the best of nursing, his naturally weak constitution soon sank beneath the power of his disease-pneumonia. The day before his death some hopes were entertained that he would rally, but all in vain. A little after noon on Tuesday his mortal eyes were closed and his short life ended.

Harry was a young man of promise, held in high esteem by all his associates and well respected by the entire community in which he was born and spent his life. Always kind and obedient to his parents, an only child, his departure has made that home desolate indeed. His handsome form, his happy countenance, his genial presence, will be sadly missed, and no wonder the broken-hearted mother was constrained to cry as she gazed upon him for the last time "Come back, Harry, Come back!" He cannot come to earth again, but the parents can say with David "he cannot come to me but can to to him."

He never made a profession of religion, but was of a thoughtful and serious turn of mind, and he gave abundant evidence to the near friends who waited upon him during his last hours that peace was made with his Maker.-While conscious of approaching dissolution he had a great desire to hear singing, and there is no doubt but that already the music of heaven was touching his soul.

On Wednesday at 2 o'clock the remains were taken to the M.E. Church in Winchester, where funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. ?.W. Haines, in the presence of a (large) audience, who also followed the remains to the grave, where the last service which could be rendered (mo??) was performed.
