Mrs. Etna Bennett

Etna, daughter of Isaac and Mary Ann Roberts, was born in Keosauqua, Iowa March 29, 1864 and with the exception on one year in Oregon, lived in Van Buren county all of her life, passing away at her home in Bonaparte, February 22, 1936, aged 71 years, 10 months and 23 days.

On October 27, 1889 she was united in marriage with Jacob H. Bennett. To this union were born two children, Lulu E. and Howard H., who with the husband are left to mourn her great loss. She is survived by four brothers: Ency Roberts, on (sic) Dungeness, Washington; Elmer and Auly of Bentonsport; and Isaac of Bonaparte; also a number of nephew and nieces and other relatives. Two sisters, Martha and Minnie; and one brother, Rmasa and both her parents have preceded her in death.

Etna was a devoted wife and mother always placing the interests of her home and family first. She was always ready to give of her time and aid to anyone who needed it.

Early in life she united with the Baptist Church at Harrisburg. She was faithful member of Friendship Camp No. 134 of the Royal Neighbors of America serving for nineteen years as recorder of the camp.

She was a good woman, loving companion of husband and children, and her passing leaves a vacancy in the lives of those who are left that can never be filled.

Funeral services were held at the Bonaparte Baptist Church Monday at 2 p.m. in charge of Friendship Camp of Royal Neighbors and Rev. Robert G. Alexander. Interment was in Bonaparte cemetery.
