Mrs. Lela B. Langford

Lela Bessie, daughter of William and Ola Miller was born at Eldon- Iowa on October 10, 1905 and departed this life at her home in the Bethel neighborhood on December 16, 1935 at the age of 30 years, 2 months and 6 days.

She was united in marriage to Arch Langford and to this union were born three children, Enid, Dale and Dennis. Her entire life has been lived in Davis and Van Buren Counties. All who knew her were influenced by her cheerful and happy disposition. She was a good neighbor, a faithful wife and a kind and loving mother. While she was not a member of any church, yet she much have had faith in the Heavenly Home and been sure of her Eternal Destination for her last words on Earth were, "I am going Home."

Besides her husband and three children and mother, Mrs. Ola Carruthers, she is survived by one brother, Murl Miller; two sisters, Letta Belle Miller and Mrs. Flossie McMillan, both of Bloomfield, Iowa; one half-brother, Conrad Carruthers of Troy, Iowa; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Bethel Church on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1935 at 1 o'clock in charge of Rev. M.E. Hayes, pastor of the Keosauqua Methodist Church. Interment was at Troy.
