Margaret Eudora Wright, daughter of John R. and Susan Loman Wright was born in Harrisburg township, Van Buren county, Dec. 2, 1841, and here and at Keosauqua she spent her childhood. She graduated from the school at Keosauqua and afterwards attended the old Troy Academy and taught for many years schools in Van Buren county.

On August 9, 1879, she was united in marriage to James R. Clark of Keosauqua and to them were born four children, two sons and two daughters, all of whom are living.

Brother and Sister Clark went to housekeeping on the old homestead entered from the Government by his father, the Rev. Samuel Clark, a pioneer preacher of the Methodist church. This was her home for the remainder of her days.

In early girlhood Sister Clark was converted and united with the Methodist church at Keosauqua and after her marriage transferred her membership to the Bethel M. E. church of which she has been a faithful member since, and in this community her life has been one of usefulness to her neighbors and friends.

She leaves to mourn their loss her children: S. M. Clark of Keosauqua; Sophia, at home; Mrs. J. C. Silver of Stockport and J. W. Clark of Burlington; one brother Frank Wright of Seattle, Wash; and one sister, Hattie Hagler of Belfield, N. Dakota; and six grandchildren.

Sister Clark passed away about noon Thursday, Oct. 20, 1927, at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 18 days, and she was not for the Lord took her.
