Alvin O. Boyer

Funeral services for Alvin O. Boyer, 85, who passed away Tuesday morning at 5:12 o'clock at Sacred Heart hospital after an illness of five months was held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the Methodist church in Farmington, the Rev. H.E. Butler, pastor in charge. Burial in the Farmington cemetery.

Mr. Boyer was born September 5, 1848, in Nashport, Ohio. When ? years old he came with his parents in a covered wagon from Ohio and settled on a farm near Farmington. He was married to Jennie E. Rhoades on February 22, 1872. His wife preceded him in death January 1, 1928. Mr. Boyer was the last of a family of 16 children. he was a member of the Baptist church.

He is survived by one son, William C., of Manilla Philippine Islands; five daughters, Mrs. W.E. White, of Ft. Madison; Mrs. P.M. Henderson, of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. P.S. Miller, of San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Claude Gary, of Independence, Kansas, and Miss Grace Boyer, of St. Louis. One son preceded him in death.
