Peter Marshall Dies at Milton
Immigrant From Scotland Had Lived in Van Buren County 50 Years; 2 Daughters Survive.
Peter Auld Marshall, former Milton merchant, died at his home in Milton about 7 o'clock Monday night as the result of an attack of heart disease. He was 75 years old.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Marian Marshall of Milton and Mrs. Max Smith of Des Moines.
Mr. Marshall was born at Edinburgh, Scotland, and came to the United States as a young man. He settled in Milton about half a century ago. He was a painter and decorator for many years and later operated a variety store in Milton. He retired several years ago.
His wife, the former Katherine Miller, died January, 1941.
Funeral services will be held at the Christian church in Milton in charge of the Rev. A.M. Hadley at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon. Singers will be Tressa Price, Letha Atkins, Gay Morgan and Russell Wilson, with Vera Carr as pianist.
Burial will be at the Milton cemetery. The bearers will be Jess Jolley, Chester Hall, Morris Atkins, Marion Roberts, Edgar Koch and Bernie Roby.
