ORLANDO, Fla. - Trace William Dossett, 37, Orlando, formerly of Wapello, died Sunday, May 2, 2004, in Ramadi, Iraq.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at the Wapello High School gymnasium, Wapello. The Revs. Dan Doolin and Mary Pugh will officiate. Military Rites will be conducted at the Wapello Cemetery. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date at the Wapello Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. A memorial fund has been established to benefit his daughters and the Louisa County All Veterans Memorial, Grandview.

Mr. Dossett was born April 22, 1967, in Keosauqua, the son of Larry L. and Cheryl Richardson Dossett. He married Angela Stoffel July 6, 1991, in San Diego, Calif.

He graduated from Wapello High School in 1985.

He enlisted with the U.S. Navy in February 1986. He served as a communications specialist and Navy diver and served on nuclear powered submarines. He completed his enlistment in 1992. He enlisted with the Naval Reserve in 2003 with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 14 of Jacksonville, Fla. He served as a heavy equipment operator. He was deployed with the Alpha Company on March 16, 2004, to Iraq.

He had been employed as a quality control manager for Middlesex Corp. of Leesburg, Fla.

He loved to play golf. His family was of the utmost importance to him, especially his two girls. He would be well recognized as a true gentleman.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cassidee and Raimee; his parents, Larry and Cheryl Dossett of Wapello; a sister, Tricia Welch and husband Bill of Iowa City; a brother, Trent Dossett and wife Jayme of Wapello; his maternal grandmother, Gladys Richardson of Wapello; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.
