Mrs. Anna E. Miller
Mrs. Anna Eliza Miller, daughter of James and Catherine Miller, was born Nov. 27, 1862, and came to Bonaparte, Iowa from Smithfield, Pa., in 1864. She departed this life on Feb. 16, 1935, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 20 days.
Miss Anna Miller and Mr. George W. Miller were united in marriage on Oct. 23, 1884, and to this union seven children were born. Clarence J., of Cedar Rapids; Rose E. Davis, of Seattle, Wash.; Lizzie C. Breazeale, of Modesto, Calif.; Ina D. Caudill, deceased; Byron G., of Bayside, Calif.; Phil A., of Healdsburg, Calif., and Pansy L. Nelson, of Bonaparte. All these children are living except Ina.
She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, George W. Miller, of Stockport; and three sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Logan, of Hillsboro; Mrs. Edna Miller, of Colorado, and Miss Mary Miller, of Mt. Pleasant.
Most of her life was spent in this neighborhood, helping in every good thing she could do, and words cannot express the wonderful mother she has been to her children. Besides that she has been a mother to her little grandson, a son of her daughter, Mrs. Ina Caudill, who passed on about a year ago.
The funeral services were held at the late home north of Bonaparte on Thursday morning, Feb. 21, at 10:30 with Rev. K.H. Coil, pastor of the Farmington Nazarene church, officiating. Interment was in Vale cemetery.
