John Logan Tade.

John Logan Tade, youngest son of Hon. W. A. and Nancy Tade, was born in Harrisburg township, Van Buren County, Iowa, December 30, 1886 and called to his heavenly home August 30, 1908, aged 21 years and 8 months.

He leaves to mourn his loss, besides his bereaved parents, four sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Nellie Phelps of Pella; Mrs. Charles Aikens of Winterset; H. D. Tade and Mrs. Walter Harlan of Hillsboro; E. O. Tade, Mrs. Howe Morrison, and Will B. Tade of Harrisburg township.

At the early age of 11 years he publicly confessed his faith in Christ and united with the Harrisburg Baptist church. Always a regular attendant of the Sunday school and the services of the church, faithful and loyal to the Savior he loved and ever ready to speak a word for him, his influence for good among his friends and companions can scarcely be estimated.

Even casual acquaintances are the better for having known Logan Tade, while those of us who have known him intimately throughout the brief years of his pure young life can only feel that our best tribute to his memory will be to show order our own lives that, should we be taken from this earthly home as suddenly as was he, we may be ready to meet him in that heavenly home, the father's house where "are many mansions." Truly it may be said of him that he "walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."

Funeral services were held at the Harrisburg church September 1st conducted by Rev. Jonathan Lee of Salem a former pastor, assisted by the present pastor, Rev. Trenerry. A brief service, by the pastor, was held at the home.

A very large concourse of relatives and sympathizing friends attended and followed the remains to the Vale Cemetery near the church.
