Mary Ann Hogan
Mary Ann Hogan, daughter of Mary and James Brown, was born near Zanesville, Ohio on the 16th day of September, 1850 and passed away at her home in Bonaparte on May 18, 1936. When quite small, she came with her parents to Clarke County, Missouri, and there in September, 1868 she was married to Isaac Jacob Hogan, a Civil War soldier, who died in March, 1908. Six children were born to this union. The eldest, Laura Hogan Covert preceded her in death in 1930. She leaves to mourn her passing five children: Clarence of Chehales, Wash.; Mrs. Betty Stackpoole of California; John and Walter Hogan and Mrs. Nellie Vance of Bonaparte also six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one nephew, Oscar Brown of Bonaparte.
Mrs. Hogan has been in failing health for the past years, and her death was not unexpected. Day by day she grew weaker and at the last passed peacefully away. And now after life's fitful voyage she has entered the haven of rest. And we seem to hear a voice saying: "Well done thou good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon in charge of the Rev. Robt. G. Alexander. Interment was in the Bonaparte cemetery.
