Samuel M. Deahl
Samuel Marchant Deahl, son of Samuel and Susan Deahl was born May 25, 1854 at West Greensburg, Pa. He came to Iowa with his parents when he was one year old. He passed away at his home in Birmingham May 22, aged 81 years, 11 months and 28 days.
He was married to Miss Elmira Grammar May 30, 1882. Two children Ivy and Pro were born to this union. Mrs. Deahl died in 1886 and January 1, 1889 he was married to Mrs. Elmira Shoemaker.
They moved to the farm west of Birmingham and made their home until the retired to their home in Birmingham fifteen years ago.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Pro, two nephews and eight grandchildren. His parents and daughter, two brothers and three sisters have preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home in Birmingham Tuesday morning in charge of the Rev. H.C. Druse, pastor of the M.E. church. Interment was in the Maple Hill cemetery.
