William Albert Tweedy
William Albert Tweedy, son of James and Jane Tweedy, was born near Birmingham, Van Buren Co., Iowa, March 4, 1861, and passed away at his home in Libertyville, Iowa, Feb. 2, 1935, after a very short illness, at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 28 days.
He was united in marriage to Susie Winters, Dec. 13, 1884. To this union were born seven children, six of whom are living, Charley, of Libertyville; Mose, of Ottumwa; Mrs. Grace Brobston, of Birmingham; Mrs. Mary McCleary, of Batavia; Dan, of Fairfield, and Harold, of Douds. One daughter, Nelle, preceded him in death in1915. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Will Miller, of Amorita, Okla., and Mrs. Eli Griffis, of Kiowa, Kan., besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Tweedy had been in poor health for four years, but was seriously ill but a few hours.
Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church in Libertyville, at 1 p.m., Monday in charge of the Rev. I.R. Magers, of Richland. Burial was made in Mt. Moriah cemetery, near Douds.
