DEATH'S HAND
Faces We See No More, Nor Voices Hear.
Obituary.
Mattie Holfhill was born near Farmington, Iowa, March 15, 1855 and exchanged worlds, Saturday, April 4, 1908. Her earthly pilgrimage thus extended over a period of 53 years and 20 days.
August 6, 1879, she was united in marriage to John W. Heaton, who survives her. Two children were born to them, one son, James W., who died at the age of two years and one daughter, Myrtle J. now Mrs. B. M. Hughes, is still living. Besides the immediate relatives the deceased has two brothers and one sister living.
Sister Heaton united with the Christian church at Big Mound, Iowa, at the age of 27 years and remained faithful unto the end.
About nine months ago her health gave way and although everything that the best medical skill could do was done, all efforts proved unavailing, and on the date above mentioned the spirit was released from the poor, suffering body and returned to her Creator.
Funeral services were conducted in the Christian church at Allerton by Eld. C. L. Walker of Brighton assisted by the of pastor, L. A. Johnson.
Sister Heaton was devoted wife and mother and an earnest christian, hence we sorrow not as those having no hope, but believe that for her to die was gain.
