MRS. C. W. WILEY

Julia Etta, the second daughter of Robert H. and Mary C. Starr, was born in Waterloo, Clark County, Mo., on April 5, 1868, and departed this life in the hospital in Fairfield, Iowa, on May 25, 1928, being 60 years, 1 month and 20 days of age at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage with H. D. Wallis on July 5th, 1885, and to this union there were born five children, namely: Cleva, Mrs. Harvey Wiley of Keosauqua; Gussie, Mrs. Oscar Laisle of Keokuk, who died in 1918; Laura, Mrs. Harrison McIntosh of Keokuk; Nellie, Mrs. Fred Benner of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; and Starr H. Wallis of Keokuk, Iowa.

On March 5th, 1895, she was married to C. W. Wiley, and to this union there were born seven children. One, Clarence, died in infancy and the remaining children, who with their father, were privileged to be with their mother when the end came are May, Mrs. Grant Matheson; Rex G., John W., Stanley R., Frank R. and Ralph R., all of Van Buren county.

Mrs. Wiley is survived by her sisters, Mrs. H. E. Meredith of Brooklyn, Iowa, Mrs. [?]. L. Kerr of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. H. L. McLeland of Milton, Mrs. Fred Brachman of Princeton, Ill., and Mrs. H. E. Tweedy of Argyle, Iowa, and by her brothers, James P. and Wm. P. of Fairfield and Chas. L. of Boise, Idaho.

Twenty-seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren also mourn the loss of a loving grandmother in whose home they were always welcome.

In her girlhood Mrs. Wiley became a member of the Methodist church in Keosauqua, and though family cares and duties prevented her attendance upon the services of the church, yet her daily life bore witness of her faith. She realized that she might not recover and was not afraid. Cheerful to the last she was an inspiration to those about her in her last days.

Funeral was conducted by Rev. Cox from the Christian church, Monday, May 28, at 2 p. m., and burial made at the Hoskins cemetery.

Would be interested in knowing who are the parents of Harrison McIntosh who married Laura Wallis; the parents of Grant Matheson who married May Wiley and the parents of Julia Etta's second husband C. W. Wiley. I believe some of them are in my family history.
