Mrs. Ellen McManus 1866-1916

MRS. ELLEN McMANUS

Wednesday evening, April 19, 1916, Mrs. Ellen McManus died at her home in Keosauqua, Iowa, having been an invalid for several years. Her age was 74 years, 3 months and 9 days. She was born in Perry county, Ohio. On January 15, 1866, in Clark county, Mo, she was married to Michael McManus, who died Jany. 10, 1898. To this union four children were born, Ellen dying in infancy and Mrs. Todd in Dec. 1912. Mrs. Jennie Wilkin and Thomas J. McManus survive and tenderly cared for their mother during her last years. She was a good woman, and though she suffered intensley [sic] for several years preceding her demise, she was patient and cheerful. Mrs. McManus moved to Keosauqua 18 years ago and since then her home has been here. She was a member of the Baptist church. She was the last of a family of several children. The funeral was held from the residence Saturday, April 22, services in charge of Eld. H. L. Lewis of the Christian church. Burial was in the Blackledge cemetery by the side of her husband.
