Sheryl A. Tipton, 67, of Keosauqua died at 6:45 P.M. Wednesday May 28, 2014 at her home. She was born December 16, 1946 in Ottumwa to Gilbert and Ivalee Lamb Jarvis and married Ronald Tipton on February 14, 1969 in Lakewood, CO.

Sheryl grew up in Bloomfield and graduated from Davis County Community School. She moved to Colorado after High School and worked for Montgomery Ward for ten years before moving to Van Buren County in 1983 where she worked at Douds Elementary Library and Barker LTD before retiring in 2009. She was a member of the Keosauqua Christian Church since 1984, loved the Lord, reading, photography, genealogy, making all kinds of crafts, spending time with grandsons, family and friends.

Surviving are husband, Ronald of Keosauqua, a son Andrew Tipton of Marion, a daughter Katie DeShane (Matt) of Keosauqua, three grandsons, Marcus Tipton, Levi and Ethan DeShane, her father, Gilbert Jarvis of Ottumwa two brothers, Kerry Jarvis (Marguerite) of Colorado and Kevin Jarvis (Brenda) of Ottumwa, five nephews and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.

In accordance with her wishes her body has been cremated, a memorial service will be at 11A.M. Saturday May 31, 2014 at the Keosauqua Christian Church, with Woody Watson officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. prior to the service at the church.

Per Sheryl’s wishes all memorials to Keosauqua Public Library may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 501 Louis St., Keosauqua, IA 52565. Pedrick Funeral Home handled the cremation.
