Chas. H. Scott Dies
Farmington, Jan. 26 — Charles H. Scott, ex-poster is dead. He had been in failing health for the past year, and on the Wednesday before Christmas had gone to Excelsior Springs Mo. for treatment, but grew rapidly worse. Mrs. Scott went to his bedside January 15, and found him unconscious. He never fully regained consciousness and was brought home last Thursday.
The deceased was the youngest son of Col. O. H. P. Scott of civil war fame. He was born at McConnellsville, Ohio, October 5, 1849, and with his parents came to Farmington in 1855, living here continually except a short time spent at St. Joseph, Mo.
Mr. Scott was married to Miss Alta C. Wagner January 28, 1890.
He was the Democratic candidate for representative in 1891, and was appointed postmaster by President Cleveland in 1894.
He was buried Wednesday.
