John Atchison
John Atchison died at Farmington Thursday of last week while on his way to the post office. He was proprietor of the Atchison house. His death is said to have been caused by a ruptured blood vessel.
He was a native of Ia., having been born at Wapello in Louisa county in 1843. He saw active service in the Civil war in the Sixth Kansas volunteer cavalry. He was employed on construction work on the K. C. road for a time and about twenty-five years ago started the Atchison house. In 1878 he married Miss Lucinda Myers, who died last November. Two children, a son and daughter, were both to them, both now deceased. It is said that Mr. Atchison at the time of his death had no relatives.
