KEOSAUQUA, Ia. - Walter DeHart, 86, died early today at his home near Keosauqua following a lengthy illness.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Keosauqua Methodist church in charge of Rev. Aldreth Weigel. Burial will be in Fellows cemetery. The body is at the Catcott Funeral home.
DeHart was born in Van Buren county March 7, 1879, the son of Albert and Eliza Stephens DeHart. He was married Nov. 10, 1901 to Anna Cooper, who survives.
DeHart was employed by the Iowa Hybrid Seed Co., until he retired 12 years ago following a heart attack. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Ernest DeHart, Wickenburg, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin Teal, Keosauqua; a niece who was reared in the DeHart home, Mrs. Juanita Achenback, Webster City; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Fout, Laton, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
DeHart was a member of the Methodist church.
